横浜美術館 キャパと沢木耕太郎 [ａｒｔ]
ジヴェルニーを離れたところで、ちょっと現実に・・・。
といっても、1ケ月前、2/3のこと。
CP+も開催されていた横浜の「ロバ＾ト・キャパ/ゲルダ・タロー 二人の写真家」展へ。

横浜美術館で3/24まで開催されている同展覧会、2013年は、キャパの生誕から100年に当たる年です。
キャパについては、スペイン内乱の「崩れ落ちる兵士」や第二次大戦の「Ｄデイ」など有名な写真などは、観たことがありましたが、タローの写真は初めてです。
キャパの著作「ちょっとピンボケ」や伝記「キャパ その青春」「キャパ その死」などの著作が愛読書だったこともあり、キャパとタローについては、愛着をもっていました。
「キャパ」になる前の作品から、亡くなる直前までのキャパの作品を、年代順に展示している本展覧会は、写真家キャパの大回顧展といった内容は、とても堪能できました。
そして、初めて見るタローの写真、そのスタイリッシュな作品は、キャパと違った魅力あふれるもので、その早すぎる死が本当に惜しいものだと認識を新たにしました。
そんな二人の300点にもおよぶ写真と関連資料によって、二人の活動の軌跡を辿ることができる本展覧会、とても充実した内容でした。

横浜美術館の常設展示でも、本展覧会に合わせて報道写真が特集されていました。
キャパとともに「マグナムフォト」を設立した「デヴィッド・シーモア」や「カルティエ・ブレッソン」、「ライフ」で活躍した「アイゼンスタット」などの作品のほか、キャパやカルティエ・ブレッソンに影響を受けた「沢田教一」や「浜口タカシ」などの作品を見ることができました。こちらも充実の内容です。

なんとか、会場外のモニター視聴に参加することができました。
展覧会の前に、図書館でたまたま手に取った沢木氏の著作を読み返して、
その後、翻訳したキャパの本を読み返して、
沢木耕太郎、やっぱいいなと思っていた矢先に、
会場で、本人に会えるとは、うれしい偶然でした！
講演の内容は、ＮＨＫのドキュメンタリーでも流された、新しい著作「キャパの十字架」に関してのものでした。
