世田谷ボロ市 第2ラウンド！ それとボロ市の歴史・・・ [世田谷ボロ市]
パリ、7日目に入る前に、今の話題を・・・。
今年で435年目を迎えるという「世田谷ボロ市」。1578年に小田原城主「北条氏政」が「世田谷宿」に楽市を開いたのが起源だそう・・・。
今年、年明けの「ボロ市」は、14日の大雪の影響を受け、15日には開けなかったお店もあったようですが、16日には、いつもの賑わいを取り戻していました・・。
「ボロ市」、氏政が市を開いた頃は、小田原城と江戸を結ぶ主要幹線は「大山道」で、賑わう「世田谷宿」に最初に市が開かれた時は、一と六のつく日、月に六回、市が開かれたようです。
その後、北条氏が滅ぼされ、家康が関東に移ってきて、東海道をはじめとした五街道を整備し、「大山道」の利用者は激減したのだそう・・・。
そこで、月六回の市は、年の瀬、正月の準備のための市として、12月に1日だけ開かれる「歳の市」に変わったようです。
その当時は、現在開催されているボロ市通りの「上町」と今の世田谷通りの「下町」とで、場所を交互に替えて開かれていたようです。年一回の市ということで、地元の風物詩にもなり、当時から大変賑わっていたようです・・・。
江戸時代、市で売られていた商品は、「神の膳」、「神酒の口」、「若水を汲む手桶」などの正月商品の他、「包丁」「ざる」「火鉢」「火打石」「灯芯」「しょうが」「みかん」「赤いわし」、「衣類」など日用品や農具などが売られていたようです。近隣の農家では、新しい年で使う品々を買い求めていあたのだそう。
特に「農具」などは、普段扱うお店が近隣にはなく、この「市」でしか手に入れることができないものもあったようです。
明治時代になり、古着、ボロ布を扱うお店の比率が増え始めたようです。東京市民が使い古した品々を、当時、農村であった「世田谷村」では、普段着や野良着の繕いや草履の補修のためにに使用していたとのことです。その需要は大変大きく「市」の午前中には、売り切れ続出だったようです。
この頃から、「ボロ市」という俗称が使われ始めたようです。
また、明治になって、明治6年から、暦が太陽暦に替わり、明治5年12月3日が、明治6年1月1日になったようです。明治5年の12月は、2日しかなかったということです。
そのため、明治5年の「歳の市」は、11/25に繰り上げ開催されたようです。
しかし、新暦（太陽暦）が正式に採用されても、農村などでは、従来の太陰暦で行事を行うところが多く、12/15開催だと、正月の準備のための「歳の市」の実質的な意味がないことから、明治7年からは、1/15にも市を開くことになったようです。この年から、1月と12月の2回開催になったわけです。
当時は、正式の市は、12月と1月の15日であったが、商品の売れ行きによって、翌16日にも店を開くところが出てきて、16日は「残市」として開催され始めたようです。（まさに今年の大雪は、残市が必要でしたね）
明治24年の1月の市から毎年のように16日にも「市」が開き始め、30年代に定着し、それ以降、12/15、16、1/15、16の年4日開催となったようです。
大正12年に下町の通り（今の世田谷通り）にバスが通るようになり、昭和7年に道路が拡張され、ますます交通量も増え、商人も下町に店を出すことを喜ばなくなってきたようです。一方、上町の方は、「裏街道」のようになり、「市」を開くのに格好の場所になり、「下町」開催は、なくなったようです。
最近は、周辺からも多くの人が集まるイベントになり、扱う商品のバリエーションも年々、拡がっているように感じます。（初めて訪れた十数年前は、古着やボロ布のお店が結構ありましたが、今は、かなり少なくなっています）
大雪に見舞われた今年の1月の「市」でしたが、無事開催されて歴史をつなぐことができました。
と、ざっと、「世田谷ボロ市」の歴史の紹介でした。
最後に今回のボロ市での収穫品を・・・。
今回は、こちらのカメラ買いました！ キーホルダーにでもしようかと！
それから、「鉄道バッチ」！ 九州人にはおなじみだった今は亡きブルートレイン「富士」と「彗星」！
「さくら」はおまけで付いていました。
それから「ピンバッチ」！
12月に購入したものと合わせて「ファイト！ 一発！」のピンバッチが4つになりました。
それと、銀杏のまな板を購入！ ほどよい固さのいちょうの木、包丁使うのが楽しくなりますね！
