前田侯爵邸 洋館とオリンパスE-P2+Planer50mmF1.4&17mmパンケーキ

代々木上原に行ったついでに日本民藝館にでも行ってみようと散歩していたら駒場公園にたどり着きました。
駒場公園の中に「前田侯爵邸」を発見。無料公開していたこともあり、覘いてみることに。


前田侯爵邸は、加賀百万石、前田家の第16代当主の本邸として1929年（昭和4年）に建築されたものです。
設計は、高橋貞太郎。日本橋高島屋や川名ホテルを手がけた建築家です。
建築当時「東洋一の邸宅」とうたわれた豪邸です。終戦後は連合軍に接収され、ホワイトヘッド空軍司令官やリッジウェイ司令官の公邸として使用されていました。（当初マッカーサーの公邸の候補だったそうです）
チューダー様式の建物は、大きく豪華です。各部屋に大理石のマントルピースが設置され、とにかく広い豪邸でした。
上野岩崎邸に比べ質実剛健といった印象です。










駒場の東京大学を散歩しながら帰りました。（結局、日本民藝館には行けず！）






駒場公園には、この洋館の他に「前田侯爵邸　和館」「日本近代文学館」もあり、日本民藝館と一緒に、訪ねてみようと思います。

次に行かれる際は日本民芸館の西館が
開いている第2、3土曜日に是非。
教養学部のほうにある駒場博物館も
展示によってはオススメですよ。
